In response to the request for financial assistance made on behalf of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, I am pleased to inform you that the International Development Association (World Bank),as administrator of grant funds provided by Japan under the Japan Social Development Fund proposes to extend to the Recipient a grant in an amount not to exceed two million eight hundred sixty-five thousand fifty United States Dollars (US$ 2,865,050) on the terms and conditions set forth or referred to in this letter agreement, which includes the attached Annex, to assist in the financing of the project described in the Annex.The objective of the Project is to significantly reduce the poverty levels of Artisan and Small-scale Mining Communities in rural Ethiopia, with specific reference to women artisan miners
